La Masserie Cottage, in the heart of Touraine, is an ideal base for visiting the many attractive and historic towns, rich countryside and, not least, the Châteaux of the Loire. One of the most famous of these, Chenonceau, is just a half hour’s drive away.

LaMasserie is near Courcay in the peaceful Indre valley in Touraine

The house, the cottage, a former bakery and a very large barn are built around a central courtyard with its lime trees providing shade in the summer. Guest accommodation is in the newly renovated cottage looking out over attractive gardens and fields, with sunflowers in season.

After your stay at La Masserie, we would love to hear your thoughts on the accommodation and what you enjoyed the most. Feel free to send us a message using the form below!

The pretty village of Courçay, with its flower bedecked bridge over the River Indre, famous for its old mills, is one of many up the valley. Click here to read about the village and surrounding area.

There is a wealth of things to see and do, from restaurants and wine tasting to sites of historic interest and wonderful countryside for the outdoor enthusiast.

From here you can enjoy everything the region has to offer. The nearest town, Loches, known as the Capital of South Touraine has two castles on its ‘Royal City’ hilltop – one Medieval the other Renaissance. There are twice weekly as well as other street markets, numerous cafés, and cultural events throughout the year.

Touraine has great outdoor possibilities; walking, cycling, swimming, canoeing, golf, or bird-watching, to name a few, with luck under a cloudless sky (summers can be hot, whilst autumn often extends well into winter, giving all year round possibilities!)

La Masserie is situated some 25 km (or 15 miles) southeast of the city of Tours. The A10 Paris to Bordeaux intersects here with the west to east A85 Nantes to Vierzon motorway. From Junction 10 on the A85, the property is a short drive, down through Cormery, in the Loches direction on the D943.
